Everything was already well planned prior to the semester break. There are a few things that I plan to do during the 2 months of semester break.

1. To learn asp.net so that I am able to do a small management system with database by end of the semester break (progressing well).

2. Start preparing information for my proposal of dissertation. This is for me to warm up a bit so that I do not not have to be running here and there for my literature review later in the next semester.

3. Start developing some Physics Multimedia modules to be tagged with metadata, uploaded and tested by end users for my project.

Unfortunately, I got a phone call a few days ago reminding me about the editing progress of my latest published book in the market.

Well, I have to revise my plan. Now there is a need for me to divert my concentration a bit. I hope that by middle of next week, everything is clear and I can proceed with my original plan.

Hannah is back to school today

Hello everyone!

Its almost 2 weeks and I really miss my school. I feel a bit healthier today. Mom says I must get going with school. Otherwise, I need to catch up a lot as compared to my friends.

Adus!! belepuk2 aku kena harini..

Kenduri kawin adik aku tinggal beberapa hari lagi. Minggu lepas aku teramat sibuk dengan menguruskan Hannah yang baru keluar hospital. Minggu ni nampak dah ok sikit cuma tekak masih sakit dan clot kesan bleeding sikit2 tu ada la lagi nak kena sentiasa cuci. So, aku pun mengambil kesempatan untuk menghubungi beberapa rakan-rakan lama (masa kecik) dan kawan-kawan ofis untuk menjemput ke kenduri adik aku pada Ahad ini. Ini antara dialog2 yang aku terkena harini..:

1. Laa... aku ingat Shima mana tadi..penyanyi ker..

2. Lerr... hidup lagi ko nih..

3. Hoi.. berpuluh kali aku telefon tak pernahnya dapat.. lain kali kalau tukar no telefon bagitau la kengkawan janganla syok sendiri..

4. Aku ingatkan ko dah tak ingat kengkawan lama.

5. Ingat jugak ko kat aku yer..

6. Huh.. nasib baik adik ko kawin, kalau tak sampai bila2 agaknya ko tak contact aku.

7. Nombor yang anda dail, tiada dalam perkhidmatan..terima kasih.

8. Err.. sorilah yer.. I rasa you salah nombor..Dah 3 tahun I pakai nombor ni..

Ini baru beberapa yang aku call. Ada a few names lagi dalam list yang kecut perut aku nak call. Ngeri! Ngeri!

Hai keman.. nasib baikla ada kenduri kawin ko sebagai penyelamat aku. Kalau tak entah apa alasan aku nak contact kawan2 lama aku nih..

Kambing buat Hazeqah

Alhamdulillah, tercapai juga impian aku dan suami untuk menjalankan ibadah Aqiqah untuk anak kami yang kedua, Sharifah Nurul Hazeqah setelah Hazeqah berumur genap 6 tahun 3 bulan pada 16 Mei 2009.




PENGERTIAN AKIKAH

Pengertian akikah ialah sembelihan binatang an'am yang dilakukan kerana menyambut kanak-kanak yang baru dilahirkan sebagai tanda kesyukuran kepada Allah. Hukum akikah ialah sunat muakad bagi orang yang menanggung sara hidup kanak-kanak tersebut. Jika anak itu lelaki disunatkan menyembelih dua ekor kambing, manakala jika anak itu perempuan disunatkan menyembelih seekor kambing. Binatang seperti lembu, kerbau atau unta boleh dibahagikan kepada tujuh bahagian.




Akikah mengandungi beberapa hikmah, antaranya:
-Sebagai tanda kesyukuran kita kepada Allah kerana telah mengurniakan anak.

-Untuk mengisytiharkan kepada masyarakat umum tentang anugerah yang dikurniakan oleh Allah.

-Untuk memulakan kehidupan anak dengan perkara-perkara kebaikan.

-Mengeratkan hubungan silaturrahim antara ahli-ahli masyarakat dengan keluarga yang dikurniakan anak.

-Melahirkan rasa kegembiraan kerana mendapat zuriat yang menepati sunnah Rasulullah.




PERBEZAAN ANTARA KORBAN DAN AKIKAH

Terdapat beberapa perbezaan antara korban dengan akikah:

1. Akikah tidak terikat pada masa tertentu, sedangkan korban dilakukan pada masa-masa tertentu, iaitu selepas sembahyang dan khutbah Hari Raya Aidiladha hingga 13 Zulhijah.

2. Daging akikah boleh diberi milik kepada orang kaya manakala daging korban hanya boleh diberi kepada fakir miskin.


3. Akikah dilakukan sempena menyambut kelahiran anak sebagai tanda kesyukuran kepada Allah, manakala korban dilakukan kerana memperingati peristiwa pengorbanan Nabi Ibrahim dan anaknya, Ismail.


4. Daging korban sunat disedekahkan secara mentah, sedangkan daging akikah sunat disedekahkan setelah dimasak.




Waktu akikah adalah dari hari kelahiran kanak-kanak itu sehinggalah ia baligh. Masa yang paling afdal untuk melakukan akikah adalah pada hari ketujuh kelahiran kanak-kanak itu.


Sabda Rasullullah s.a.w.:






Yang bermaksud: "Setiap bayi itu tergadai dengan akikahnya. Disembelih untuknya pada hari ketujuh dan dicukur kepalanya dan diberi nama."



Syarat-syarat akikah:


Berniat akikah ketika menyembelih.

Hendaklah binatang tersebut tidak ada cacat yang boleh mengurangkan dagingnya serta sampai umur.



CARA MELAKUKAN AKIKAH


-Berdoa semasa hendak menyembelih:



Yang bermaksud: "Dengan nama Allah, Allah Maha Besar. Ya Allah, binatang ini daripada-Mu dan kembali kepada-Mu, ini akikah …" (menyebut nama anak).


-Menyembelih ketika matahari sedang naik.


-Daging akikah dimasak terlebih dahulu sebelum disedekahkan.


-Tidak mematah-matahkan tulang-tulang daripada binatang akikah, hanya mencerai-ceraikan sendi-sendinya.


-Menyedekahkan daging akikah kepada fakir miskin.


-Memasak daging akikah dengan cara gulai manis untuk dihidangkan kepada tetamu.

These were my first expressions as I was introduced to a person from Mexico when I was attending a course in Japan last 3 years. Moises Fernando Cortina, has been a neighbour sitting next to me in the Computer Lab for nearly 4 months during my Application of Multimedia Technology in E-Education course in Okinawa International Center, Japan. He is working as a Research Assistant at the National Institute for Forestry, Agriculture and Livestock Research of Mexico, (INIFAP). INIFAP´s main objectives are to generate and transfer knowledge and technological innovations for a sustainable development of agricultural, livestock and forestry production in Mexico.

All over the world, we were shocked by the emergence of the swine flu AH1N1 started in Mexico. So, I wrote him an email about a week ago asking him about the current situation in Mexico and of course to ask about his current news.

He replied my email about 2 days ago informing about the present condition in his country. Well, at least, I could get the original news from someone who is inside the battle.

In the email, he informed that the attack of swine flu AH1N1 is currently so strong in Mexico since 44 people have died until now. Last week, all institutions in Mexico were shut down for 10 days as they supposed that the period for controlling the epidemic would last within these days. The government started to give more specifications and task to be done by the people in Mexico in order to prevent the dissemination of the virus. They closed bars, meetings, restaurants, football matches, cinemas and more and more and more public places in all over the country, and the people were instructed to use a cover in face. Later, they decided to shut down the office activities.

After almost 2 weeks, nowadays they are going back with their everyday activities, Offices, Universities and schools shall be reopening gradually. All restaurants, cinemas, and normal crowded meetings will be carrying out extra preventative measure activities for controlling any new upbrake. For instance, in cinemas, a person must be separated for 4 seats, and the space in rows must be 2 rows, this kind of new specifications must be followed by many places...also in restaurants they are required to clean their hands very often, and use special liquid to eliminate any risk of virus...

Anyway, for me, it is not fair to blame this country for accidentally being a starting point of the spread virus. We are still learning more about this virus and we should thank them for being the frontlines doing a good job facing this situation.

He ended his email by saying this:

I will go to Mexico City next week, I need to work there for 2 days, and I will be just in the key position where this disease started. I am not afraid. We need to start all over again to get back to our ordinary activities and it is time to do it. Unfortunately, the economic, cultural, social and normal conditions of México were affected, and it will take time to be salvaged... but we are very optimistic that our lovely México will win this crisis as many others before.

Viva Mehico!!

Mama jangan marah Hannah lagi tau..

Pagi ini hidung dan mulut Hannah bleeding lagi. Aku terpaksa batalkan beberapa program yang aku dah rancang hari ini. Nasib baik dah cuti semester. Sementara tesis aku belum mula ni, at least I can spend luxurious time for my girl.

Hannah mengadu tekaknya sakit and she is having hard time swallowing food through her throat. Masa bawa Hannah ke Tawakal 2 hari lepas pun, Dr Solah already informed us that her saliva is very thick maknanya dia takut nak telan walaupun her saliva. He keeps on reminding us Hannah only can takes in soft food such as porridge, nestum, ice-cream, oats and drinks MILO, glucose, horlicks etc. No solids such as rice, especially donut is currently allowed for Hannah. Badan Hannah pun dah susut sebab seminggu lebih menda-menda ni aje yang dia telan.

Aku kagum sebab Hannah memang berani. Aku tengok depan aku Dr Solah masukkan sebatang sucker panjang macam pembaris pendek untuk sedut impurities yang ada pada hidung dan mulut Hannah. Terkejut aku melihat clot sebesar ibu jari aku keluar dari kedua-dua belah hidung Hannah. Apabila Dr Solah tanya Hannah sakit tak masa sedutan tu, dia mengangguk kecil, dan dia lansung tidak menangis. Kalau aku tengok batang besi panjang camtu mesti aku dah lama tendang Dr tu. Yelah walaupun ada yang kata Hannah tak nangis sebab tak sakit, bagi aku Hannah tetap berani. Sikit pun dia tidak melawan. Aku tau Hannah pun pasrah dah.

Lunctime tadi macam nak bergaduh aku nak suruh dia telan porridge. Aku kata Dr suruh makan walaupun sikit. Nanti perut kosong ambil ubat kakak akan muntah. Pagi tadi pun camtu masa mandi nak suruh dia gargle dengan Listerine, sebab penuh sangat mulut dia dengan air liur yang takut nak ditelan. Merah aje mata dia kena paksa makan porij, makan ubat, kena gargle every few hours, hidung kena spray every 4 hours etc.

Ada sekali tu, bila aku asyik membebel aje (biasalah nama pun mak, kalau tak membebel bukan mak namanya), tapi masa bebel tu, aku selitkan jugak unsur-unsur kasih sayang.. mama kan sayang Hannah, sebab tu mama nak Hannah cepat sembuh. Mama miss my healthy Hannah. I want you to get better that is why I am forcing you to eat and take in all this medicine. Kalau mama tak sayang Hannah, mama tak paksa Hannah makan.

Suddenly, out of the blue, Hannah grab my phone and typed this note for me...

Hai.. nama pun mak.. terus aku cool down senyum pada Hannah.

Oklah letih ni. Nak spa kejap..

Hannah and Hazeqah first Dictionaries

Kebetulan hari ini aku ke Universiti menghantar beberapa dokumen. Aku pun mengambil kesempatan singgah ke MPH MidValley bagi mencari reference untuk aku belajar lebih detail mengenai ASP.NET. Yelah masa buat asainmen Software Engineering haritu, aku follow aje advise sensei aku disebabkan kesuntukan masa. Menurut watashi no sensei, ASP.NET dengan MySQL database dan Apache webserver agak mudah untuk dipelajari. Memandangkan middleware is already installed in my workstation, so aku pun belilah buku ni. Nak belajar PHP atau ColdFusion nanti dulu lah kot. he he.. sensei sumimasen..

Buku untuk mama

Aku sebenarnya dah lama nak ke kedai buku. I wanna find Dictionaries for my girls. Selalunya, Hannah dan Hazeqah akan pinjam Dictionary mama semasa buat homework. Bukannya aku taknak bagi tapi Dictionary untuk orang dewasa ni featuresnya agak advance berbanding dengan junior Dictionaries. Everytime I have to guide them. So, selepas mendapatkan pandangan adik aku selaku bakal graduan Tice skolah rendah, aku pun pilih punya pilih, yang nampaknya agak user friendly sikit yang seperti di bawah ni. Time kasih yer Keman. Yelah nak pilih bahan bacaan kanak-kanak kenalah tanya mereka yang expert dalam bidang ni. Tanya aku Buku Fizik dan Add Maths bolehla..

So, aku harap lepas ni Hannah and Hazeqah can work harder to obtain higher achievement in their academic level. Hannah pun nampaknya dah semakin sihat Alhamdulillah. Tengok TV pun dah slow sikit sekarang ni. Bilik study pun mama dah sediakan macam mini library. Hai. masa aku kecik dulu takdek pun semua kemudahan ni. Siap tanya aku bila nak pasang ekon di bilik study ni.. he he.. budak zaman sekarang..

Anyway, cuti sekolah ni kalau ada mana-mana cikgu tusyen part time yang nak sewa bilik ni bolehla buat booking yer. Daycare juga dibuka untuk kanak-kanak dengan syarat hadir bersama cikgu tusyen sekali. Makanan dijamin halalan toyyiban. Walaubagaimanapun, kadar bayaran tertakluk kepada umur dan saiz dan paling penting kad kredit tidak diterima sama sekali.

Hannah and her courage

It is nearly one week after the surgery.

Hannah is presuming to be recovering each day. Up until yesterday, everything was fine, I cleaned her bleeding nose, and it was actually clot from the earlier surgery. However, Hannah seems not having any appetite. She only can swallow 2 – 3 tablespoonful of nestum 3 in 1, also 2 – 3 tablespoonful of plain porridge throughout lunch and dinner. Besides that, she refuses to eat anything as she told me her throat feels ache.

This morning I was surprise as I could notice some fresh colour blood coming out from her right side nose. I jumped up from my bed and I was alarm for a few seconds. The pillow also has some stain of blood. Luckily, my husband is still in the house at that particular moment. Therefore, we are sending Hannah to the hospital again this morning as the Dr already informed us to take her to hospital if there is any new bleeding occurs.

Nevertheless, Hannah is just Hannah. She does not get shocked even though the tissue is full of blood.

She is strong. Her courage inspires me.

Hannah, Tawakal Hospital and me - Day 2

Around 1.45 pm yesterday, I got a phone call informing me that the OT people require me to be there. So, hurriedly I moved to the nurse station, and they brought me to the OT. The nurse over there told me that Hannah has already awake but because the bius effect is still taking action, she might be feeling a bit tired and sleepy.

I met Dr Solah and really thank him what he has done. He told me that the procedure undergone for almost 4 hours. The particulars discusses were as following:

1. Do not inquire Hannah to blow her nose, because the nose is still bleeding and Hannah might experience drowsy a little bit as soon as she awakes from her sleep.

2. The adenoid was taken out, the size is pretty massive for a normal person, so as the tonsil and he said the specimens can be seen from the bottle.

3. The sinusitis mucus was managed to get sucked out from the area between noses and eyes.

4. Two tubes were put inside both of her middle ears helping to work out the eardrum stuck in the glue. (well I am not sure about the scientific terms anyway)

5. No food is allowed for Hannah for the next 6 hours. Drinking water is also forbidden for the next 3 to 4 hours until she is fully awaken. Soft ice cream and jelly might possible for her to learn how to gulp down slowly.

6. Finally he said Hannah would be much better, healthier, more clearly in hearing and perhaps less snoring as well.

After that, 2 nurses pushed her stretcher to the ward followed by me. They informed me that the Dr has already given them the instructions and from time to time they will come and observe Hannah.

Hannah opens her eyes ON and OFF started from 3 pm. The first impression when she saw me and when I said hi sayang mama, she gave me that angry look. I understand. You know why? Maybe everybody around her was not telling her the truth. People keep on telling her ‘Its ok, not to worry, no pain’ etc, but it was never as what she experienced. He he… anyway, everything is settled and the most important task now is to ensure her recovery.

When she was fully awake at 4.30 pm, she was pointing her tummy. I asked her if she is hungry and she nodded agree. I said, well, the doctor only allows kakak to eat started from 8 pm. And she asked for plain water. After that she went to sleep again.

Around 5 pm, she went to toilet. Thank you mak for being here with me helping me take care Hannah. Kalau mak takdek panic jugak aku nak pegang dia lagi dengan botol air dia lagi. Nearly around 5.30 pm, Dr Solah walked in and reminds me again the instruction, type of medications and a few rules must be aware for Hannah after the operation.

Meanwhile she keeps on asking when her sister is coming to the hospital. I think more than 3 times she was signaling me asking me about when Hazeqah is coming. Umm.. she misses her sister. Gaduh gaduh juga.. bila tak jumpa asyik2 tanya.

She started to swallow the MILO ice cream at 6 pm I think only for 3 – 4 tea spoons. She took the plain porridge at 8 pm as advised by the doctor. At nearly 10 pm, 2 nurses came in for her BP and after that a nurse was checking her BP and body temperature. The readings were 100/60 for BP and 37.2 for her body temperature.

She slept at 10.30 pm. And after ensuring that everything was fine, I pull the blanket, put on my socks, and joining Hannah in her dream.

What a long day. Hope everything goes well for tomorrow.
