Just a few years ago, people communicated mostly on a local level because communicating with people far away was so complicated and very expensive. People used telephone for most voice communications, the postal service delivered most of written messages (bayangkan masa hari raya jenuh posmen nak hantar kad raya). These 2 types of communications are still exist but all of them are converging to web-based. The extended reach and reduced cost of communication through the internet has changed the way people change information and resources.
Social relationship are changing. People are more interconnected. Family and friends stay in more closer even though we are separated very far away. Even distances separated us, we can still have more frequent contact via internet. It is envitable that internet has quickly become integral part of our daily routines. Emails, Instant Messaging and blogs are becoming popular communication tools.
Just imagine what we can do
- Receive and send email at an internet cafe over lunch
- Post and share your stories, photographs, home videos and experiences with friends, families and the world
- Shop and sell at online auctions
- Students can communicate with instructors and fellow friends using online tools
- Check you bank balance and pay bills electronically (termasuk bayar hutang)
- Obtain health information and nutritional advise from experts all over the world
mmm... but the most I hate is.. Nowhere is considered remote!!! Homes are no longer remote from work. Normally all bosses will assume that their staff can telecommute and live long distances from their offices..
So, cuti balik kampung pun kekadang kena kerja jugak..
